Saratoga Rotary Youth Service Projects
Saratoga Rotary is involved in numerous youth programs in town benefitong youth from elementary, middle and high schools to West Valley College students. Here is a summary of some of our programs:
Interact Clubs: Our club sponsors three Interact clubs: Prospect and Saratoga High Schools and Cambrian Academy. Interact is a club of young people who tackle issues in their community that they care most about. They carry out hands on projects, make international connections, develop leadership skills and best of all have fun.
Enterprise Leadership Conference (ELC): Our club sponsors 15 students (juniors) from local high schools to attend a three day workshop teaching them principles of the free enterprise business world. Kids learn fundamental business ideas including how to build a company, manage finances, marketing, human resources, and to give effective presentations.
Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA): Our club sponsors students from our area high schools to participate in a week long leadership camp where they learn skills about how to become better leaders, build better friendships, and how to actively apply what they learned at camp to their lives, schools, and communities.
Scholarships: We award monetary scholarships to students from local schools. Two students from each elementary and middle school are awarded Citizenship and Civics scholarships. Graduating seniors from High schools are awarded College Scholarships.
We have established a Book scholarship at West Valley College where students can borrow curriculum books from the Library.
